Art Shows - Why We Showcase

#artpiecesoul

Our September Art Show is rapidly approaching and will take place on Saturday September 21st from 6-9PM. The theme for this show is Fall home, & office decor, jewelry, art & crafts will all be available for purchase directly from our featured artists themselves. We love that these events give an opportunity for you to see the fantastic artwork in the gallery, but most importantly to meet the artists behind your next great find!

It is important to the collection of artists at Art Piece Soul Gallery that we are able to connect with YOU! It is you, our audience, our readers, our community that make our artistic endeavors worthwhile. And that is the cornerstone behind the events hosted at the gallery. These events offer you a way to be more involved in your local art scene. In an effort to go beyond the art hanging on the gallery wall, we invite the art lovers of the Twin Cities to join us for special events. Art shows only costs $5.00 and include a glass of wine and/or treats. In addition to our latest show, keep an eye out for art workshops that will begin in October.

But back to the Fall Art Show...

The pieces shown on September 21st will be Brand New to the gallery. All the artists involved in the show have created pieces specifically for this event. This gives you a chance to see fresh work straight from the individual studios of our artists. It also allows our artists to explore different styles and different work, which expand on their creativity.

The artists with show specific work are: Alicia De La Cruz, Jade Pelton, Broderick Poole, Lucienne Schroepfer, and Ann Sisel.

Ann Sisel explains that her Halloween painting began as a playful color experiment and ended with the cool images of creatures and orange and black. She was inspired by the neighborhood kids who get so excited by this holiday. She will also be showing a snow painting, inspired by her love of the calm and early morning lighting for painting subjects. This type of lighting creates a mood, and artists can capture this. Her favorite things about fall are: the slowing down of nature, sounds like cicadas, and watching squirrels make nests from leaves. To her it seems that nature is implying that we should all slow down, start nesting in our apartments and houses and make art or cook a pot of harvest vegetable soup. Most of us in our busy lives can use this cue from nature, for the need to slow down and savor the moments.

Lucienne Schroepfer wrote about her pieces that fall is all about color for her. Color combinations are really at the root of her artwork. While other times of year she is looking at the different greens we might see, in the fall we get to enjoy oranges, reds and yellows. About a year ago she started experimenting using smaller scraps of fabric, sewn together by using a stabilizer that later is removed by soaking the piece in water. The technique is perfect for adding texture to her work-- particularly when doing trees.

Are you looking for something fresh for your home or office? Or maybe you are in need of a gift and are looking for something totally unique? Art Piece Soul Gallery is the place to find an array of styles and decor options. Our September show is also a great time to mingle with other art lovers in the Twin Cities. You won't want to miss out on these exclusive pieces. We will see you there!
